On life-giving curves

how does it take shape

form into a trend

or wither into forgetfulness

how does something take hold

is brought to the fore

becomes a lifestyle – a regime

or is left on the slag-heap of lies

do things achieve a biological apex

and then explode into nothingness

like a politician’s pants

or is it all just a dream

with moments of waking

and tasty things to eat

or in signs

is fine

The everyday – the mundane

The tried and true

The sold to you

The shared experience of society

The acceptable level of discomfort

Unexceptional walking pace pain

Unbearable boredom punctuated

By screaming jags

And hurtled shards of shame

to replace

the mechanic

they would
